Yokohama City Emergency Consultation Guide Terms of Use

Article 1 Use of the Terms

The Yokohama City Emergency Consultation Guide (hereinafter referred to as "the Guide") is operated by the Yokohama City Fire Bureau (hereinafter referred to as "the Bureau") with the aim of helping persons who are in doubt about calling an ambulance or undergoing a medical examination at a medical institution immediately in case of a sudden illness or injury, to make a decision about what to do. The Guide was formulated by the Yokohama City Emergency Counseling Protocol Group in reference to the Emergency Determination Protocol ver.2 established by the "Research and Development Team for Tools to Promote the Use of an Emergency Judgment System to city residents" by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Fire Agency in FY2015/2016.

The terms of use for the Guide shall be as follows. All persons (hereinafter referred to as "the User") can use the Guide only upon reading and agreeing to these terms before use.

Article 2 Changes to the Terms

The Bureau may change the content of the terms without notice as needed.

Article 3 Compliance with the Terms

The User shall comply with the terms when using the Guide.

Article 4 Preparation of Equipment, etc.

  1. The User shall prepare the telecommunication equipment, software, telephone usage contract, Internet connection contract, etc. necessary for using the Guide at his/her own responsibility and expense. In addition, telecommunication charges and connection charges related to the use of the Guide shall be borne by the User.
  2. When using the Guide, the following environment is recommended. All or part of the Guide may not be available in an environment other than the recommended environment.

Article 5 Operation of the Guide

In the case where a disaster, incident, or other emergency situation occurs or is likely to occur, or if there is an unavoidable reason for failure in the telecommunications equipment installed by the Bureau, at the discretion of the Bureau the time of provision of the Guide may be shortened, or provision of the Guide may be suspended or terminated.

The Bureau shall not be liable for any inconvenience, detriment, or damage incurred by the User or a third party as a result of discontinuation, etc. of provision of the Guide based on the above.

Article 6 Copyrights, etc.

All copyrighted works, illustrations, texts, and other information published in the Guide are subject to intellectual property rights such as copyright or the right to use and other rights. It cannot be used without permission from the Bureau beyond the scope for private use or other use expressly permitted by law.

Article 7 Prohibitions

The User shall not perform the following actions when using the Guide:

  1. Acts that infringe or may infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of another user, third party, or the Bureau.
  2. Acts that infringe or may infringe on the property or privacy of another user, third party, or the Bureau.
  3. Acts that cause or may cause detriment or economic or mental damage to another user, third party, or the Bureau.
  4. Acts that hinder the operation of the Guide
  5. Acts that damage trust in the Guide.
  6. Acts of using or providing a harmful program such as a computer virus through or in connection with the Guide.
  7. Other acts that violate or may violate laws and ordinances.
  8. Other acts that the Bureau deems inappropriate.

Article 8 Disclaimer

  1. The Bureau strives to ensure that the Guide content and judgment results are accurate and up-to-date, but the Guide content and judgment results are not the results of tests and medical examination, and since medicine advances day by day, there is no guarantee that the posted content and judgment results are accurate and complete at any time. Therefore, based on the content of the Guide and the judgment results, the User is responsible for determining whether to undergo examination at a medical institution or to use an ambulance.
  2. Please note that the content of the Guide and judgment results may differ from the emergency consultation by telephone or the judgment of the ambulance team when actually requesting an ambulance.
  3. Please note that the Department shall not be liable for any inconvenience, detriment, or damage incurred as a result of use the Guide by the User.

Article 9 Concerning Links

  1. The external websites that the Guide links to and the external websites linked to the Guide are managed and operated under the responsibility of their respective corporations or individuals and are not under the management of the Bureau. Please note that the Bureau shall not be liable for any inconvenience, detriment, or damage incurred as a result of use of a linked website by the User.
  2. In principle, do not establish a link to the Guide other than for those organizations or individuals authorized by the Bureau.

Article 10 Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The use of the Guide and the interpretation and application of these terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Japan unless otherwise specified. Unless otherwise specified, any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Guide shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Yokohama District Court in the first instance.
